Ingredients
- Cooked pasta (macaroni or small shapes – 12 oz / 340 g)
- Cooked chicken (shredded or cubed – 2 cups)
- Broccoli florets (2 cups, steamed or roasted)
- Shredded mozzarella cheese (2 cups)
- Shredded cheddar (1 cup)
- Cream or evaporated milk (1 cup)
- Cream cheese (4 oz)
- Butter (2 tbsp)
- Flour (2 tbsp)
- Garlic powder (1 tsp)
- Onion powder (½ tsp)
- Salt + pepper (½ tsp each)
- Optional: parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Prep the casserole base: Cook pasta al dente and steam broccoli until tender-crisp.
- Make creamy sauce: Melt butter in a pan, whisk in flour, then slowly add cream. Stir in cream cheese until smooth.
- Season: Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and half the mozzarella + cheddar.
- Combine: Mix pasta, chicken, broccoli, and creamy sauce together.
- Transfer to baking dish: Spread mixture evenly and top with remaining mozzarella and cheddar.
- Bake: Bake at 375°F / 190°C for 20 minutes until bubbly. Broil 2 minutes for extra browning.
- Serve: Let rest 5 minutes before scooping. Garnish with parsley.
