Ingredients
- Thick-cut bread (sourdough or Italian)
- Unsalted butter
- Mozzarella cheese
- Garlic
- Shredded cheddar or provolone

- Black pepper
- Optional pinch of red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Mix softened butter with minced garlic, parsley, Parmesan, and a pinch of pepper.
- Spread garlic butter generously on one side of each bread slice.
- Flip bread butter-side down; layer cheeses evenly on the unbuttered sides.
- Close sandwiches with remaining bread, garlic-butter side facing out.
- Heat a skillet over medium; cook sandwiches until golden and crisp on the first side.
- Flip carefully and cook until the second side is deeply golden and cheese is fully melted.
- Rest 1 minute, slice, and serve hot.
