Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 cup toffee bits
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz dark chocolate (for ganache)
  • 1/2 cup butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare two 8-inch cake pans.
  2. Whisk flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and baking soda. Add eggs, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla; mix until smooth.
  3. Divide batter between pans and bake 28–32 minutes. Cool completely.
  4. Whip heavy cream with a swirl of caramel to create a fluffy caramel cream layer.
  5. Stack cake layers with caramel cream and sprinkle generously with toffee bits between layers.
  6. Heat heavy cream and pour over chopped dark chocolate to make ganache; stir until glossy.
  7. Pour ganache over the top, drizzle extra caramel down the sides, and finish with more toffee crunch before slicing.
