Description

Light, airy choux puffs filled with silky vanilla custard and dusted with snowy powdered sugar.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup Butter
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 cup Milk (for custard)
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Make choux: boil water, butter, and salt; stir in flour until it forms a smooth ball.
  2. Beat in eggs one at a time until glossy and pipeable.
  3. Pipe rounds onto a baking sheet; bake at 400°F for 10 min, then 350°F for 20–25 min until puffed and golden.
  4. Make custard: whisk milk, sugar, cornstarch, and egg yolks; cook until thick, then add vanilla.
  5. Cool custard completely, then pipe into cooled puffs.
  6. Dust with powdered sugar.
  7. Serve fresh with extra custard if desired.

Notes

  • Ensure the custard is completely cooled before filling the puffs.
