Description

Buttery toasted bread overflowing with melty Swiss cheese and garlicky sautéed mushrooms—pure, savory indulgence in every bite.


Ingredients

  • 4 slices thick-cut bread (brioche or sourdough)
  • 6 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • ½ tsp thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet; add mushrooms, garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper. Sauté until golden and soft.
  2. Butter one side of each bread slice.
  3. Place a slice butter-side down in a pan, layer with Swiss cheese, sautéed mushrooms, and another cheese slice.
  4. Top with the second bread slice (butter side up).
  5. Grill on medium heat 3–4 minutes per side until bread is golden and cheese melts.
  6. Slice in half, garnish with parsley, and serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
  • Serve with a side salad for a complete meal.
