- 4 Chicken drumsticks (or thighs)
- 2 tablespoons Butter
- 1/4 cup Flour
- 2 cups Chicken broth
- 1 Onion (optional)
- 2 cloves Garlic
- 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
- Salt + black pepper to taste
- Parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Season chicken well with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika; sear in butter until deeply browned.
- Remove chicken and sauté garlic (and onion if using) in the same pan.
- Stir in flour to form a roux and cook lightly until golden.
- Slowly whisk in chicken broth to create a smooth, rich gravy.
- Return chicken to the skillet, spoon some gravy over top, and cover.
- Simmer 25–30 minutes until chicken is tender and gravy thickens.
- Garnish with parsley and serve with mashed potatoes or rice.
Notes
- For a spicier gravy, add cayenne pepper to taste.
