Description

Ingredients

  • 4 Chicken drumsticks (or thighs)
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1/4 cup Flour
  • 2 cups Chicken broth
  • 1 Onion (optional)
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • Salt + black pepper to taste
  • Parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season chicken well with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika; sear in butter until deeply browned.
  2. Remove chicken and sauté garlic (and onion if using) in the same pan.
  3. Stir in flour to form a roux and cook lightly until golden.
  4. Slowly whisk in chicken broth to create a smooth, rich gravy.
  5. Return chicken to the skillet, spoon some gravy over top, and cover.
  6. Simmer 25–30 minutes until chicken is tender and gravy thickens.
  7. Garnish with parsley and serve with mashed potatoes or rice.

Notes

  • For a spicier gravy, add cayenne pepper to taste.
