- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 can (15 oz) sloppy joe sauce
- 3 cups frozen tater tots
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F and grease a casserole dish.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté onion until soft.
- Add ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned.
- Stir in sloppy joe sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Spread beef mixture evenly in the dish and top with half the cheese.
- Arrange tater tots on top and bake for 30 minutes, until golden and crisp.
- Sprinkle remaining cheese and broil for 2 minutes until melty; garnish with parsley.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add diced jalapeños to the beef mixture.
