Description

Savory herb-seasoned beef with tomatoes, olives, and melty cheese baked into pure Mediterranean comfort.


Ingredients

  • lbs ground beef
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • ½ cup Kalamata olives, sliced
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or crumbled feta
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ cup tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and lightly grease a cast iron skillet.
  2. Heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté onion and garlic until softened.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned; drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in oregano, thyme, paprika, salt, pepper, tomato sauce, olives, and cherry tomatoes. Simmer 5–7 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle mozzarella or feta evenly over the top.
  6. Transfer skillet to oven and bake 12–15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Remove, garnish generously with fresh parsley, and serve hot.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes.
  • Feel free to substitute ground turkey for a leaner option.
  • Serve with crusty bread or over rice for a complete meal.
