- 8 oz Farfalle (bowtie pasta)
- 1 lb Ground beef
- 1 cup Tomato passata
- 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- 1 Onion (diced)
- 1/2 tsp Crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt & black pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup Fresh parsley (chopped)
- 1/4 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook farfalle until al dente. Drain and reserve ½ cup pasta water.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onion until softened, then add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
- Add ground beef, breaking it apart and cooking until browned and slightly crispy on the edges. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Stir in tomato passata and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 8–10 minutes until thickened and rich.
- Add drained pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat. Splash in reserved pasta water if needed for a silky sauce.
- Simmer together for 2–3 minutes to marry flavors.
- Finish with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier dish, increase the amount of crushed red pepper flakes.
- Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms for added nutrition.
