Description

A quick and delicious Rustic Beef & Tomato Bowtie Skillet featuring tender farfalle pasta tossed in rich tomato passata with savory browned beef and fresh herbs.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz Farfalle (bowtie pasta)
  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 1 cup Tomato passata
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 Onion (diced)
  • 1/2 tsp Crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup Fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 1/4 cup Grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook farfalle until al dente. Drain and reserve ½ cup pasta water.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onion until softened, then add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  3. Add ground beef, breaking it apart and cooking until browned and slightly crispy on the edges. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  4. Stir in tomato passata and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 8–10 minutes until thickened and rich.
  5. Add drained pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat. Splash in reserved pasta water if needed for a silky sauce.
  6. Simmer together for 2–3 minutes to marry flavors.
  7. Finish with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier dish, increase the amount of crushed red pepper flakes.
  • Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms for added nutrition.
