Description

A fast, flavorful fried rice loaded with juicy shrimp, tender veggies, and garlicky soy goodness—better than takeout.

Ingredients

  • Large shrimp (peeled & deveined)
  • Day-old cooked rice
  • Soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • Garlic
  • Eggs
  • Green peas
  • Carrots, diced
  • Green onions, sliced
  • Sesame oil
  • Vegetable oil
  • Salt & black pepper
  • Optional: chili flakes or white pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a hot skillet; cook shrimp quickly until pink, then remove.
  2. Add a bit more oil and scramble eggs until just set; push aside.
  3. Sauté garlic, carrots, and peas until tender.
  4. Add rice and spread into an even layer; let crisp slightly.
  5. Drizzle soy sauce and sesame oil; toss well.
  6. Return shrimp and green onions; stir to combine.
  7. Season to taste and serve hot.

Notes

  • For best results, use day-old rice to prevent mushiness.
  • Adjust the seasoning according to your taste preference.
