Description

Juicy marinated chicken wrapped in warm pita with crisp veggies and a cool, garlicky tzatziki drizzle.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless chicken thighs
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt (for marinade & sauce)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large cucumber, grated
  • 4 pita breads
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ lemon, juiced
  • ½ cup diced tomatoes
  • ½ cup chopped lettuce
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine yogurt, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper to make the chicken marinade.
  2. Coat chicken in marinade and chill for 20–30 minutes.
  3. Grill chicken on medium-high heat until charred and cooked through, about 5–6 minutes per side.
  4. For tzatziki: mix Greek yogurt, grated cucumber (squeezed dry), garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  5. Warm pita breads on the grill or pan for 30 seconds per side.
  6. Assemble gyros with lettuce, tomatoes, grilled chicken, and a generous spoon of tzatziki.
  7. Sprinkle fresh parsley or dill on top and serve immediately.

  • For extra flavor, marinate the chicken overnight.
  • Feel free to add other toppings like red onion or feta cheese.
