Description
Silky, umami-rich collard greens braised until tender and glossy with garlic miso butter.
Ingredients
- Collard greens (stems removed, chopped)
- Butter
- White or yellow miso paste
- Garlic (sliced)
- Olive oil
- Vegetable broth or water
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
- Black pepper
- Optional splash of lemon juice or rice vinegar
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a wide skillet over medium heat.
- Add garlic and sauté gently until fragrant, not browned.
- Add collard greens and toss until just wilted.
- Pour in broth, cover, and simmer until greens are tender.
- Stir miso into softened butter, then add to the skillet.
- Toss until greens are glossy and coated in miso butter.
- Season with black pepper and optional acid; serve warm.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of miso based on your taste preference.
- For a spicier version, add more red pepper flakes.
