- 1 loaf crusty artisan bread
- 1½ cups shredded mozzarella
- ½ cup shredded cheddar
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- ½ tsp dried thyme
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with foil.
- Slice the bread in a crosshatch pattern without cutting all the way through.
- Mix melted butter with garlic, parsley, oregano, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Gently pull open the cuts and drizzle herb butter deep into the bread.
- Stuff shredded mozzarella and cheddar evenly between the slices.
- Wrap loosely in foil and bake for 15 minutes; unwrap and bake another 10–15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Serve warm while the cheese is perfectly melted and stretchy.
Notes
- For extra flavor, consider adding more herbs or spices to the butter mixture.
- Serve with marinara sauce for dipping if desired.
