Description
Juicy seared steak cubes tossed in garlic butter, served with velvety mashed potatoes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb sirloin or ribeye steak, cut into cubes
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 large russet potatoes
- ¼ cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt & black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Cut steak into 1-inch cubes, pat dry, season generously with salt and black pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high until shimmering.
- Sear steak bites in batches, 2–3 minutes per side, until browned but still juicy. Remove and set aside.
- Reduce heat, melt butter in the same pan, add garlic, and sauté until fragrant. Toss steak bites back in to coat with garlic butter.
- Meanwhile, boil potatoes until fork tender (about 15 minutes). Drain, mash with butter, cream, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Plate mashed potatoes, spoon steak bites on the side, and drizzle with extra garlic butter from the pan.
- Sprinkle with chopped parsley and cracked pepper before serving.
Notes
- For best results, use a cast-iron skillet for searing.
- Adjust the amount of garlic according to your taste preference.
- Let the steak rest for a few minutes after cooking for better juiciness.
