Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked chicken (shredded)
  • 1 cup mozzarella or provolone cheese
  • 4 slices crusty sandwich bread
  • 4 tablespoons garlic butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish
  • Optional: mayo or garlic aioli

Instructions

  1. Toss shredded chicken with olive oil, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  2. Lightly toast one side of the bread slices.
  3. Spread garlic butter (and aioli if using) on the toasted sides of the bread.
  4. Layer cheese, seasoned chicken, more cheese, then top with the remaining bread.
  5. Cook in a skillet or oven until the bread is deeply golden and the cheese melts.
  6. Flip carefully to crisp both sides evenly.
  7. Finish with chopped parsley and slice while hot.
