- 2 cups cooked cavatappi or elbow pasta
- 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2 chicken breasts, seasoned and grilled
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- ¼ cup breadcrumbs
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley
- Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook pasta until al dente; set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt butter and whisk in flour to form a roux. Gradually add cream until thickened.
- Stir in shredded cheese, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
- Toss pasta with the cheese sauce and transfer to a baking dish.
- Top with sliced grilled chicken and breadcrumbs; bake for 15 minutes at 375°F until golden.
- Garnish with parsley and a sprinkle of red pepper flakes.
- Serve warm with extra cheese on top if desired.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes to the cheese sauce.
- Feel free to substitute the chicken with cooked bacon or sausage for a different flavor.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
