Ingredients

  • 1 cup Ricotta cheese (well-drained)
  • 1/2 cup Mascarpone (optional but extra creamy)
  • 1/2 cup Mini chocolate chips
  • 2 sheets Puff pastry
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp Orange zest or 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 Egg wash
  • Pistachios for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cut puff pastry into two equal rectangles. Brush with egg wash, dock with a fork, and bake at 400°F until puffed and golden. Cool completely.
  2. Beat ricotta (drained) with powdered sugar, vanilla, and optional zest or cinnamon. Fold in mini chocolate chips.
  3. Place one baked pastry sheet on a board. Spread a thick layer of cannoli filling over it.
  4. Add the second pastry sheet and gently press. Chill for 30–45 minutes for easier cutting.
  5. Cut into neat squares with a sharp knife.
  6. Dust with powdered sugar. Garnish with pistachios and extra chocolate chips.
