Crispy Chili–Lime Cheese Bombs are molten, stretchy cheese wrapped in a golden crust with a bright chili-lime zing, perfect for a flavorful snack.
Ingredients
- Large fresh mozzarella balls
- All-purpose flour
- Eggs (beaten)
- Panko breadcrumbs
- Lime zest + lime wedges
- Chili flakes
- Honey (or hot honey)
- Chopped parsley
- Salt & pepper
- Neutral frying oil
Instructions
- Pat mozzarella balls dry, season lightly with salt, pepper, and a touch of lime zest.
- Coat each ball in flour, then egg, then panko until fully covered.
- Freeze 10–15 minutes to keep the interior ultra-gooey while frying.
- Heat oil to 350°F and fry cheese bombs for 2–3 minutes until deeply golden and crisp.
- Drizzle with honey, sprinkle chili flakes and parsley, finish with a squeeze of fresh lime, and serve immediately.
Notes
- Ensure the mozzarella balls are well-dried to prevent oil splatter.
- Adjust the amount of chili flakes based on your spice preference.
- For a sweeter touch, use hot honey.
