Description

Creamy Mozzarella Marinara Baked Gnocchi is a delicious dish featuring soft potato gnocchi baked in a rich marinara and cream sauce, topped with bubbly mozzarella and fresh basil.


Ingredients

  • 1 package shelf-stable potato gnocchi
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella, diced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and lightly oil an oven-safe skillet or baking dish.
  2. Warm olive oil in the skillet; sauté garlic briefly until fragrant.
  3. Stir in marinara, cream, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add gnocchi and gently fold to coat in the sauce.
  5. Dot mozzarella evenly over the surface and sprinkle with Parmesan.
  6. Bake uncovered for 15–18 minutes until bubbling and lightly golden.
  7. Finish with fresh basil and a pinch of red pepper flakes before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier dish, increase the amount of red pepper flakes.
  • Feel free to substitute the heavy cream with a lighter alternative for a lower calorie option.
  • Fresh basil can be replaced with dried basil if necessary.
