Description
Juicy beef patties simmered in a bold, velvety horseradish cream sauce — rich, savory, and perfect over mashed potatoes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ lbs ground beef
- 2 tbsp prepared horseradish
- 1 cup beef broth
- ¾ cup heavy cream
- ½ cup finely diced onion
- 1 egg
- ⅓ cup breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp butter
- Salt & black pepper
- Fresh chives for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix ground beef, onion, egg, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire, salt, and pepper. Form into 4 oval patties.
- Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat. Sear patties 4–5 minutes per side until deeply browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, add beef broth and scrape up browned bits. Simmer 3–4 minutes.
- Stir in heavy cream, horseradish, and Dijon. Simmer until slightly thickened.
- Return patties to the skillet and spoon sauce over them. Cover and simmer 8–10 minutes until cooked through.
- Garnish with chopped chives and serve hot with mashed potatoes or crusty bread.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of horseradish to taste for desired spiciness.
- Can substitute ground turkey for a leaner option.
- Serve with a side of vegetables for a complete meal.
