Description

Spicy blackened shrimp and smoky sausage wrapped in a bold Cajun cream sauce—weeknight comfort with attitude.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Shrimp (peeled & deveined)
  • 8 oz Andouille sausage (sliced)
  • 12 oz Fettuccine or linguine pasta
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 Onion, sliced
  • 1 Bell pepper (red preferred)
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 cup Chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil or butter
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • Fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta in salted water until al dente; reserve some pasta water.
  2. Season shrimp generously with Cajun seasoning.
  3. Sear shrimp in a hot skillet with oil until blackened; remove and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, sauté sausage slices until browned; add onion and peppers.
  5. Stir in garlic, paprika, and a splash of broth; simmer briefly.
  6. Pour in cream and reserved pasta water; simmer until slightly thickened.
  7. Toss in pasta and shrimp, coat well, adjust seasoning, and serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra heat, add more Cajun seasoning to taste.
  • Fresh parsley can be used as a garnish for added flavor and color.
  • Feel free to substitute shrimp with chicken or other seafood if desired.
