Description

Rich, pan-seared Irish-style steaks smothered in a velvety whiskey cream sauce and served beside buttery mashed potatoes with herbs.

Ingredients

  • Thick-cut steaks (ribeye or sirloin)
  • Irish whiskey cream sauce
  • Mashed potatoes
  • Butter
  • Heavy cream
  • Garlic
  • Dijon mustard
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt & pepper
  • Parsley or chives
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. Season steaks with salt and pepper; sear in a hot oiled skillet until crusty and cooked to desired doneness. Remove and rest.
  2. In the same pan, add butter and garlic, sautéing briefly.
  3. Deglaze with a splash of Irish whiskey and let it reduce.
  4. Add cream, Dijon, Worcestershire, salt, and pepper; simmer until thick and silky.
  5. Prepare mashed potatoes with butter, cream, salt, and chopped herbs.
  6. Return steaks to the pan to warm in the sauce.
  7. Serve steaks with a generous pour of whiskey sauce and herb mash beside them.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of whiskey based on personal preference.
  • For a richer flavor, use ribeye steaks.
  • Ensure the cream is added slowly to prevent curdling.
