Description

Classic Homemade Lasagna is a delicious dish made with layers of rich meat sauce, creamy ricotta, and gooey melted cheese baked to perfection.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 12 Lasagna noodles
  • 15 oz Ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups Mozzarella cheese
  • 24 oz Tomato sauce
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 Egg (for ricotta mixture)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

Instructions

  1. Sauté onion and garlic in olive oil, then brown the beef; add tomato sauce and seasonings.
  2. Cook lasagna noodles until al dente; drain and set aside.
  3. Mix ricotta with egg, parmesan, parsley, and a pinch of salt.
  4. Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  5. Layer noodles, ricotta mix, meat sauce, and mozzarella—repeat 3–4 times.
  6. Finish with sauce and cheese on top, then cover with foil.
  7. Bake for 40 minutes, uncover, and bake another 10 until bubbly and golden.

Notes

  • Let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes before serving for easier slicing.
  • Feel free to add vegetables like spinach or mushrooms for extra flavor.
  • Can be made ahead and refrigerated or frozen for later use.
