Instructions
- Cream butter and sugar until fluffy; beat in egg and vanilla.
- Add flour, baking powder, and salt; mix into a soft dough.
- Divide dough into three portions: leave one plain, color one red, and one green.
- Roll each color into equal rectangles; stack red → white → green, then roll into a tight log.
- Chill the log 30–45 minutes until firm.
- Slice into ¼-inch pinwheels, dip edges in sanding sugar, and place on a parchment-lined sheet.
- Bake at 350°F for 9–11 minutes until set but not browned.
