- 1 cup finely chopped dates
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
- 1/2 cup cream cheese (for frosting)
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- Flaky sea salt for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Soak chopped dates in hot water for 10 minutes, drain, then mash slightly.
- Cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually combine with wet mixture, then fold in dates.
- Scoop dough onto baking sheet and bake 10–12 minutes until golden and set. Cool completely.
- Beat cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth. Pipe a swirl onto each cookie, drizzle generously with caramel sauce, and finish with flaky sea salt.
