Description
A gourmet twist on comfort food — creamy brie, juicy blackberries, and tangy balsamic glaze melted between buttery, golden bread slices.
Ingredients
- Fresh blackberries (1 cup)
- Brie cheese (6 oz, sliced)
- Balsamic vinegar (2 tbsp)
- Sourdough or brioche bread (4 slices)
- Butter (2 tbsp, softened)
- Honey (1 tbsp)
- Fresh basil leaves (optional)
- Salt (pinch)
Instructions
- Make the balsamic reduction: Simmer balsamic vinegar and honey in a small saucepan until syrupy; set aside to cool.
- Prepare the bread: Butter one side of each slice. Place butter-side-down on a hot skillet.
- Layer fillings: Add brie slices, fresh blackberries, and a drizzle of balsamic reduction. Sprinkle with a pinch of salt.
- Add basil: Place a few fresh basil leaves for a fragrant touch.
- Grill to perfection: Top with the second bread slice, butter side up, and grill 3–4 minutes per side until golden and the cheese melts.
- Rest & slice: Let sandwiches rest 1 minute before slicing to allow cheese to settle.
- Serve warm: Drizzle extra balsamic glaze on top for a stunning finish.
Notes
- For a sweeter taste, adjust the amount of honey in the balsamic reduction.
- Experiment with different types of bread for varied flavors.
- Fresh basil adds a nice touch, but can be omitted if desired.
