Moist chocolate cake squares drenched in glossy fudge sauce and topped with juicy, syrupy cherries.
Ingredients

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup cherries (fresh or canned in syrup)
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup heavy cream or milk (for chocolate sauce)
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and grease an 8×8-inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, mix melted butter, sugar, eggs, and cocoa powder until smooth.
- Stir in flour and baking powder; fold in half the cherries.
- Pour batter into the pan and bake 25–30 minutes until set.
- In a saucepan, heat chocolate chips and cream until glossy and smooth for the sauce.
- Pour warm chocolate sauce over cooled cake squares.
- Top generously with remaining cherries and serve warm or chilled.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate chips.
- Can substitute fresh cherries with canned cherries in syrup.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
